Privacy Policy
This policy describes how Natural Horizons handles the data of the people who visit the site.
Last updated: August 17, 2026
Natural Horizons is an independent editorial project. We collect the minimum amount of data necessary to operate the site and respond to messages sent voluntarily.
Data we collect
Data provided voluntarily
- Contact form: name, email, subject, and message, provided by you.
- Newsletter: email address and record of your consent.
We do not ask for documents, financial data, or sensitive data. Please do not include this type of information in your messages.
Browsing data
As with any site, the server hosting Natural Horizons may log technical access information, such as IP address, date and time, pages requested, browser type, and operating system. These logs are used for security and troubleshooting purposes.
Cookies
We use cookies and local storage technologies necessary for the site to function, including recording your consent choice. Preference, statistics, and marketing cookies are only used after consent. Details are in the Cookie Policy. You can manage or block cookies at any time through your browser's own settings.
Purpose of processing
- Responding to messages and requests you send.
- Sending the newsletter, when there is a subscription and confirmation.
- Keeping the site running, secure, and available.
- Understanding, in aggregate form, how content is used, when there is consent for statistics.
We do not sell personal data, do not make automated decisions with legal effect, and do not build commercial profiles from received messages.
Storage and retention period
Contact messages are kept for as long as necessary for the response and the editorial correction history. Newsletter data is kept while the subscription remains active. Technical access logs are kept for short periods, defined by the hosting provider.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). We adopt reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data, such as input validation, access restriction, and minimal collection. No system, however, is entirely immune to incidents.
Sharing with vendors
To operate the site, we use infrastructure vendors, such as a hosting service and an email delivery service. These vendors may process data strictly to provide the contracted service, in accordance with their own policies. We do not share data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Advertising
The site reserves advertising spaces that are always clearly labeled. If we display third-party ads in the future, we will disclose in this policy which providers are used, and marketing cookies will only be activated after your consent.
Usage statistics
If statistics tools are enabled, they will only be loaded after consent in the "Statistics" category, for the purpose of measuring audience in an aggregate way.
Your rights
In structuring this policy, we take into account principles and rights provided for under Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD), without claiming absolute legal compliance. You may request:
- confirmation that processing exists and access to your data;
- correction of incomplete or outdated data;
- anonymization, blocking, or deletion of unnecessary data;
- data portability, when applicable;
- information about data sharing;
- withdrawal of consent, including for cookies and the newsletter.
Children and teenagers
The site is not directed at children, and we do not intentionally collect data from minors.
